Description

Starting time:  9.30 for a 9.45 start.  Allow plenty of time to get there as it's quite a hike from the Northern Beaches. (Approx 1hr 15mins) Pop the following address into your GPS:  100 Eaton Rd, Luddenham NSW 2745.  There is plenty of free parking in the visitor centre car park.

This is a new club ride of approximately 36km around the site of the new Western Sydney International Airport.  The ride is mostly flat with only one steady climb out of Mulgoa back to the A9 after morning tea.

We  cycle on the wonderful new A9 cycleway, and adjacent country roads - these won't be too busy but they don't have much of a shoulder (and sometimes none).  Extreme care will be needed on these side roads.

Our morning tea stop will be at the glorious 'Oasis Terrace' in the quaint village of Mulgoa in their outdoor area, at approx the 27 km mark - (remember it's all relatively flat cycling to that point!)  The Oasis Terrace menu can be checked out online.

From the morning tea stop we retrace our steps (tyre tracks) back to the A9 and return to the visitor centre.  Our free tour of the interactive displays starts at 12.30pm.  It's quite impressive.  https://westernsydney.com.au/your-airport/experience-centre
The suggested lunch stop (for those wishing to stay on) is the Mulgoa Settlers Cottage - a quaint and rustic pub opposite the morning tea spot.

This will be an interesting and varied day out for those who attend. Hope you can make it, it should be a great day... especially if you like tonka trucks!
Please message me if I've forgotten anything.. :).  If you would like to attend this ride please 'reply' to this email asap, so that we have numbers for the bookings that need to be made.  Please let us know whether you wish to stay on for lunch as well.

Cheers,
Steve and Lyn.

BOOKING: make your booking direct with the ride leader - see contact details under 'When & Where' at right.

IMPORTANT: Please do not just turn up on the day! If the ride is cancelled, we need to know who to advise.

NBB 'bunch rides' attract a friendly group - a bunch - of social, non-competitive riders looking to maintain fitness, enjoy good company and 'smell the roses'.
(You will NOT be joining a 'bunch' in the highly-trained, peloton meaning of the word!)
