Description

For riders who live in the Canada Bay LGA we have a Sunday ride.  Starting at the Brewer St carpark we will follow the boundary of the LGA in an attempt to maximise our ride without doubling back on ourselves.  The ride will head anti-clockwise around the LGA, traversing the suburbs of Cabarita, Breakfast Point, Mortlake, Concord, Rhodes, Concord West, North Strathfield, back into Concord and Canada Bay before a take away coffee stop in Five Dock.  From Five Dock the ride will head through Rodd Point, Drummoyne, Chiswick and Abbotsford before returning to Brewer St.

The ride is graded medium and the intention is to stay on the road as much as possible.  I have done this ride frequently on Sunday mornings and the roads are reasonably quiet.  I do plan on travelling along Gipps St in Canada Bay and Henley Marine Drive in Drummoyne, so only riders who are comfortable on these roads should join.

The total distance is around 42 km with an expected average speed of 18 km/h.  We expect to set a pace in the low 20’s km/h where conditions allow.

This ride will be restricted to a maximum of 5 people (including the ride leader).  All riders must be a resident of the Canada Bay LGA and must be fully vaccinated.  You will be asked to present proof of meeting these requirements prior to the ride start.  You will be required to carry the proof of vaccination and the proof of residence with you on the ride as well.

Please advise me by return mail if you would like to join the ride. An email announcement will be made once the ride is full.
