Description


Distance: 33 km

Pace: ~24 kph where possible, average ~17-19kph

Grade: Medium, some moderate climbs, total elevation: 313m, riding will be on a mix of roads, shared paths and cycleways, experience on public roads required. Ride will wait at suitable locations to ensure all riders can regroup.  
This is a light traffic ride with great water views and 2 bridge crossings. Some hilly sections through Drummoyne and Gladesville. The ride will allow for riders to re-gather at suitable points where it is safe to do so. 
 
It will depart from Concord and travel through Five Dock, Drummoyne, Gladesville, Putney, Meadowbank, Silverwater, Sydney Olympic Park and Concord West (where we will stop for coffee) and back to Brewer Street. The ride including a coffee stop should take approx 3 hrs.
 
Return time: 10:00am approx
 
PLEASE NOTE, this ride will be limited to a maximum of 12 riders. An email will be sent out advising when the ride is full. Please contact the ride leader before the event on either phone or email, if you have not ridden with BayBUG before we will require you to complete a registration form.
 
In accordance with NSW Government health rules for public gatherings the following precautions will apply to all rides until further notice:
·         Riders must not attend if sick, have cold or flu or flu-like symptoms, or have in the last two weeks been in contact with a person who has tested positive to Corona virus or who has just returned from overseas travel.
·         Pre-registration for the ride is compulsory - a roll call will be taken by the ride leader and participants ticked off - no signatures or pen sharing.
·         All riders are encouraged to bring with them a small size hand sanitizer (ride leaders will have their usual first aid kit).
·         No clearing of nasal/ respiratory secretions while riding, bring a tissue.
·         Registration for and participation in a BayBUG ride includes providing verbal consent for contact details from the ride log to be provided to NSW public health officers undertaking contact tracing if a person on the ride later tests positive for COVID-19.
.         All riders are required to periodically refer to the NSW Health latest updates for areas nominated for increased testing and should not join a ride if they are required to test and have not yet received a negative result.
 
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE RIDE IN A SAFE AND RESPECTFUL MANNER AND OBEY THE ROAD RULES. YOUR SAFETY IS YOUR YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. 
 
As usual look out for an email notice of cancellation by 6:30am if the weather is poor, otherwise see you Sunday.

By participating in the cycling activities provided by the organising Bicycle NSW Affiliated Bicycle User Group, you agree:

  • to obey all Australian and NSW road rules;
  • that your bicycle and equipment is in good mechanical order.
  • to comply with all directions given to you by Bicycle NSW employees or agents of the organising Bicycle User Group;
  • to take full and sole responsibility for any person under the age of 18 years who accompanies you in these cycling activities;
  • that you participate at your own risk; that the agreement for services provided to you by the organising Bicycle User Group does not include any implied or express warranty that the services of the organising Bicycle User Group will be rendered with due care and skill or that any materials provided by the organising Bicycle User Group in connection with the cycling activities will be fit for the purpose for which they are supplied;
  • that the organising Bicycle User Group has no liability to you for personal injury or death arising from the services that the organising Bicycle User Group provides to you; and

to indemnify organising Bicycle User Group against any claim, loss, damage, liability, cost and expense that may be incurred or sustained by the organising Bicycle User Group in connection with any act, matter or thing done, permitted or omitted to be done by you or which was in any way connected with your involvement in the cycling activities.
An approved Australian Standards helmet is required to be worn on all rides. No helmet, no ride. No exceptions. Please ensure your bike is in good working order and bring a spare tube, a pump, tyre levers, a full water bottle and any other tools you may require. It is also recommended you bring money for food and/or fares and your mobile phone.

Children – these rides are not a child minding service. Every rider under the age of 18 must be under the direct supervision of a parent/guardian. The parent/guardian must watch and control their children for the duration of the ride. The parent/guardian agrees to take full and sole responsibility for their children’s safety. Please contact the Ride Leader in advance to discuss the suitability of a ride for your children.
