Description
We travel via Mona Vale Rd and McCarrs Ck Rd to views of Pittwater around Church Point and Bayview. Then quiet but hilly back roads past the northern beaches and an ocean lookout to the Palm Beach wharf where there may be time for a quick coffee before the ferry leaves. Glorious views of Broken Bay and Lion Is as we cross to Patonga. Climb up through Brisbane Waters National Park. The last stage begins with a descent to sea level down then via Ettalong Beach and Booker Bay to Woy Woy station. Return by train.
Preregistration required due to limit to the number of bikes that can fit on the ferry. We usually return to Turramurra by early- to mid-afternoon. During summer months this ride may include a stop for a swim - bring the cosies!
Notes: We'll differ from standard:divert via Whale Beach & ocean-side Palm Beach (+3km);divert along waterside SUP from Blackwall to Woy Woy(+2km).N.B. Cycling distance is overstated almost 10km, as ferry ride is included; we'll cycle approx 62km.We'll buy coffee etc. at Palm Beach, before boarding 10:30 ferry.https://ridewithgps.com/routes/38580914
