Description
Because this is a well known recreational area, there are numerous rest areas along the route equipped with cafes, toilets and water.
The route is along mostly quiet back roads with the exception of the Central Coast Hwy bike lane/break down lane where there is sometimes fast moving traffic.
Please be aware you have to be self sufficient as there are no viable bail out points. It is recommended to have two spare tubes, some snacks and sufficient water.
Notes: Start ASAP after arrival of Oscar train due 8:53 (ex Epping 7:47, Hornsby 7:59).Coffee at The Entrance after 18km, picnic lunch lakeside at Gorokan after 49km (BYO or buy nearby).We'll use paths more than the standard route.Pace off where paths are busy.Pace brisk on bland road sections.Continuous riding: fit/electrified riders please.Aiming for 2:49 return train from Wyong (NOT Tug), due Hornsby 3:49, Epping 4:02.
