THE WEEKEND
Looks like we can do this weekend on 5 Nov but depends on hitting 80% vax and no Sydney or local lockdowns
Now, the Pedalfest is not on this year...so we're doing this rides ourselves, bring your own scones and muffins and a thermos for hot coffee/tea for morning & afternoon teas.

All riders must be double vaccinated and be able to show proof,
NSW restrictions apply,
20 riders limit on each ride,
social distancing applies,
must not attend if have flue like symptoms,
Bike Leichhardt financial members only.

THE AGENDA for Weekend

This is a classic weekend away in lovely historic Dungog - there's a whole weekend of activities on including cycling on the Saturday, Sunday there are 2 options of the Bandon Grove Sunday ride.

Friday - Arrive in Dungog
6.00pm Meet at the Brewery pub in the main street
time for a drink and further outline the weekend. We'll find a suitable pub for dinner later on.

Saturday – 2 easy rides morning & afternoon

9.00 am - Meet at Visitor Info Centre (VIC) in main street for Easy Fosterton loop 23km ....bring thermos for morning tea on the picturesque Williams River. Scones n cream provided by lovely Laura.

2.00pm - Meet at VIC for the afternoon ride to historic Thalaba Church 20km. Bring your own muffins and tea again

Sunday - one ride

9.00 am - Meet at VIC for ride out to Bandon Grove ride for more muffins & tea, 23km, or some more energetic riders might want to ride onto Chicester Dam and return.

1.00pm - end of weekend, drive home

ACCOMMODATION
Arrange your own or Camping at the showground or behind the Bowling club– Please make your own arrangements. Contact Visitor information Centre 4992 2212 for assistance in accommodation.
NOTE - If not camping might need to book early to reserve pub or motel or AirBnB accommodation as this is part of a week of activities in Dungog.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED FOR THIS RIDE: A bike in good mechanical order; a helmet, a water bottle; spare inner tube(s) in case of puncture; lights for riding in the dark to the station. Casual clothes for Saturday night plus any overnight necessities. A change of riding clothes for Sunday if desired. Bring money to purchase food and drinks. Sunscreen is advised. Please note ride leader’s contact mobile number.

SIGN-ON SHEET: All riders will be required to read, acknowledge and agree to the “IMPORTANT NOTICE” (to be emailed with confirmations), by completing and signing the Bike Leichhardt Sign-On sheet at the start of the ride.

Disclaimer

Cycling can be an enjoyable and exciting activity. However, like many recreational activities that require physical exertion, cycling carries with it the risk of physical injury. The risks associated with cycling include the risk that:

  • you may be involved in a collision with people, animals, objects and/or vehicles;

These risks may result in death, bodily injury, disability, property damage and economic loss. There are other risks to which you may be exposed. You should ensure that you wear appropriate clothing and safety equipment, including a helmet.

By participating in the cycling activities provided by the organising Bicycle NSW Affiliated Bicycle User Group, you agree:

  • to obey all Australian and NSW road rules;
  • that your bicycle and equipment is in good mechanical order.
  • to comply with all directions given to you by Bicycle NSW employees or agents of the organising Bicycle User Group;
  • to take full and sole responsibility for any person under the age of 18 years who accompanies you in these cycling activities;
  • that you participate at your own risk; that the agreement for services provided to you by the organising Bicycle User Group does not include any implied or express warranty that the services of the organising Bicycle User Group will be rendered with due care and skill or that any materials provided by the organising Bicycle User Group in connection with the cycling activities will be fit for the purpose for which they are supplied;
  • that the organising Bicycle User Group has no liability to you for personal injury or death arising from the services that the organising Bicycle User Group provides to you; and

to indemnify organising Bicycle User Group against any claim, loss, damage, liability, cost and expense that may be incurred or sustained by the organising Bicycle User Group in connection with any act, matter or thing done, permitted or omitted to be done by you or which was in any way connected with your involvement in the cycling activities.
An approved Australian Standards helmet is required to be worn on all rides. No helmet, no ride. No exceptions. Please ensure your bike is in good working order and bring a spare tube, a pump, tyre levers, a full water bottle and any other tools you may require. It is also recommended you bring money for food and/or fares and your mobile phone.

Children – these rides are not a child minding service. Every rider under the age of 18 must be under the direct supervision of a parent/guardian. The parent/guardian must watch and control their children for the duration of the ride. The parent/guardian agrees to take full and sole responsibility for their children’s safety. Please contact the Ride Leader in advance to discuss the suitability of a ride for your children.
