IMPORTANT: This ride has been CANCELLED.
The Ponds and Parklands – 40kms
(Tallawong to Bella Vista via The Ponds, Western Sydney Parklands and Blacktown)
Meet outside Tallawong Metro Station for departure at 9.30am. (Toilets are within the station, next ones are at 15kms.)
Getting there:
Metro leaves Chatswood at 8.47, and Epping at 9.00. Arrives Tallawong 9.23.
If you prefer to drive, park near Bella Vista Metro station and take the metro to Tallawong.
Alternatively, drive to Tallawong and at the end of the ride at Bella Vista, catch the metro to Tallawong.
The ride is mostly on cycle paths and quieter roads, but where busy we’ll opt for the footpath.
Coffee stop is at 21kms – about 11am - so bring a small snack if you need to munch before that. (There is no coffee at Tallawong station.)
We finish the ride at Bella Vista. There is a restaurant, Zac’s Great Food, and we can lunch there before catching the train, or those not wanting to stay for lunch can go straight to the station.
This is a mostly flat ride, interspersed with a few minor hills.
I will check for Covid updates leading up to July 4 and will cancel the ride if necessary.
If you’ve never explored these areas by bike, this is a good opportunity to enjoy the cycleways of the west, but please let me know first: Text Natalie on 0413 315 696 or email at hippodreams@optusnet.com.au
BOOKING: make your booking direct with the ride leader - see contact details under 'When & Where' at right.
IMPORTANT: Please do not just turn up on the day! If the ride is cancelled, we need to know who to advise.
NBB 'bunch rides' attract a friendly group - a bunch - of social, non-competitive riders looking to maintain fitness, enjoy good company and 'smell the roses'.
(You will NOT be joining a 'bunch' in the highly-trained, peloton meaning of the word!)

An approved Australian Standards helmet is required to be worn on all rides. No helmet, no ride. No exceptions. Please ensure your bike is in good working order and bring a spare tube, a pump, tyre levers, a full water bottle and any other tools you may require. It is also recommended you bring money for food and/or fares and your mobile phone.
Children – these rides are not a child minding service. Every rider under the age of 18 must be under the direct supervision of a parent/guardian.
