Newcastle - Big Day Out

This is a medium to medium-hard ride at a moderate pace. The ride will take up most of the day by the time you allow for train travel times and riding time. There are several short pinches around Green Point Reserve but in general this is a relatively flat ride. The ride starts from the Newcastle Interchange and follows the southern edge of the harbour foreshore out to the breakwater. We return to Nobbys Beach and follow cycleways along the east coast as far south as Bar Beach. From Bar Beach we head west along Glebe Rd towards Adamstown and the start of the Fernleigh Track. Quick coffee at Whitebridge, a lunch stop Warners Bay. Breakwater route may be changed on windy days due to be wind-blown sand.
