Waterfall, Woronora Dam, Helensburgh | Medium | 9.15am | 39kms | N/A | 16 | $0.00 | BOOK NOW |
Meet at Waterfall Station at 9.12am after the arrival of the Kiama train, which leaves Central at 8.29, platform 25; Redfern at 8.31, platform 12; Wolli Creek at 8.39, platform 4; Hurstville at 8.48, platform 4; Sutherland at 9.01, platform 2.
We’ll cycle on the Princes Highway to the turnoff for Woronora Dam. Flood repairs are being carried out on the dam wall and we’ll just get glimpses of the water. However the return ride is on a concrete road through bushland and is very pleasant – although hilly.
On returning to the highway we’ll continue to Helensburgh to view the Sikh Temple and then have a well-earned coffee and food stop. The return to Waterfall is 11kms.
Part of the highway doesn’t have a rideable shoulder, and there will be some fast passing cars. You’ll need to bring a snack to have at the dam as nothing will be available till Helensburgh at 28kms. There are toilets at the dam picnic area.
Anticipated time of 1pm return at Waterfall Station.
